The ARC

The Heatherbank ARC (Arts, Remedial and Computers) is now complete.

It is currently being used for Remedial classes and computers, and will be adding the Life Skills and Arts in 2022.

Without the support of the Michiels Al Aisati Fund, this project would not have been possible. Thank you to the generous donours for this incredible addition to our school. We look forward to your visit and the official opening in January 2022.

The Bus

Thanks to IRONMAN South Africa hosting the IRONMAN World Champions in Nelson Mandela Bay, IRONMAN 4 the Kidz was able to activate 3 legacy projects, giving back to those in need. Heatherbank was identified with an immediate need for their kids and selected as one of the “Legacy Projects” with the delivery of the 78 seater school bus to the school.

IRONMAN 4 the Kidz, with the IRONMAN Foundation and ISUZU South Africa, ensured that the projects were completed successfully.

The HUB

The HUB was openend in January 2020. This room is used as a research centre, classroom and library for the Intermediate phase learners.

Learners are encouraged to read, interact and question. Flexible seating allows 20 learners to work by themselves or with peers in small or large groups.

Rotary Club

The Intermediate Phase ablution block, together with the Sick Bay and PC lab was donated by Rotary Club of Point West Sacramento Districts.  The computer lab is complete with a 12 networked computers. Igen sponsors the Wifi network. The sick bay has become a very important place for isolating sick pupils during the covid-19 pandemic.

Covid-19

During the hard lockdown, our dedicated staff members created work booklets for all our learners, sponsored by Early Inspiration, and donated food parcels were distributed by Joy to the Nations in 9th Ave, Walmer. We are grateful for the team of volunteers who, during this time, sew masks for all our learners.

Multi-purpose court

The all weather court, completed in Nov 2020, was a collaboration of funding from Aquest Colsen, Rotary Club Hulst and Algoa FM Big Walk for Cancer. This court can be used for both Netball and Basketball. It includes adjustable hoops for both games. The court is a great addition to our grass soccer field, currently used for all other sports.
